Taking into account the motivations, objectives, drivers and governance of the long-term structural change in each of the region and countries’ energy systems, PLAC 2018 will help countries and companies alike plan for a sustainable and clean energy future.

It will act as an anchor for the multiple efforts that are being made by national, multilateral and private institutions to enhance the regulatory framework and technical conditions needed to facilitate the advancement of a structured power market at both national and regional levels.

The role of each country in the region is both exciting and critical; PLAC 2018 will bring ministers of energy, regulators and utilities together with credible local, regional and international participants to reinforce energy development, highlighting the opportunities for investment and development of the LAC power markets.

For 2018, PLAC:2018 will be co-located with the Americas Gas Summit. Renewable energies will eventually become the largest source of energy globally. This will only be possible in partnership with clean and convenient natural gas as a transition fuel to overcome the current challenges for renewables in volume, availability, intermittency, storage, and energy density. The two events will strengthen Panama’s position as regional energy, trading & logistics hub while highlighting investment and development opportunities across the entire energy value chain.
