Jorge has worked in development, construction, and asset management of renewable energy plants throughout Latin America for almost 25 years. He started his career in the construction of Costa Rica’s first geothermal power plant in Miravalles. He moved to the private sector in 1999, working for EGI International, and then Enel Green Power, as an asset manager for hydroelectric plants and a wind farm in Guatemala and Costa Rica. He then moved to business development, working on hydroelectric, wind, and geothermal projects in Central and South America. He served as Vice President for Asset Management for Econergy Interanational, with assets in development, construction and operation in Costa Rica, Bolivia, Chile and Brazil. After Suez (now Engie) acquired Econergy, Jorge served as a Country Manager in Costa Rica, and then a regional Project Director for Central America. He has been with Celsia since 2014, initially as Project Director for Central America, and since September 2015 in Business Development, and he has been based in Medellín, Colombia, since December 2016.
Jorge has Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an Executive MBA from INCAE.
