Graduate of Law and Political Science of the University of Panama. Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Santa María La Antigua University.
Mr. Meana has more than 25 years of professional experience. He has practiced as a jurist in the state and private sector in the Republic of Panama. In the state sector he has worked in the Judicial Body, formerly Institute of Hydraulic Resources and Electrification (IRHE), Unit for the Process of Privatizations (PRORIVAT) of the Ministry of Treasury and Treasury and Legal Advisor of the Regulatory Entity of Public Services (today Authority National of Public Services).
Within the private sector, he has served as Vice President of Legal Affairs for BellSouth Panama, S.A, Secretary of Telefónica Móviles de Panamá S.A., as well as external consultant for companies providing public telecommunications services, potable water supply and electricity.
Through each of the positions held, Roberto Meana Meléndez has managed to achieve all the objectives set and entrusted. One of its main achievements was its outstanding participation in the process of privatization of public electricity and telecommunications services.
